Hunger Games Soundtrack

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
For some reason, I was wide awake from 4-6 in the morning...so to say that I'm tired today would be a complete understatement. Poor John has to put up with cranky me... and I'm really cranky.

Something getting me through the day today is the beautiful music from the Hunger Games. It really relates to the story but you can compare it to real life too and the struggles and stresses we face from everyday life!

For example, I'm super excited to be moving in with John come August, but it's going to be bittersweet not living with my parents anymore... I mean that's all I've ever known so it's definitely weird. But that doesn't mean I'm any less excited. But ya gotta grow up sometime!

You know that feeling that you get when one of your dreams are about to come true?
That excited and giddy feeling?

Back in the day, I got that feeling when my Dad bought me tickets to see my idol at the time, Hilary Duff. Who (I'm embarrased to admit) I still get stupidly excited when I see her on a TV show or movie.

But now... my new favorite singer of all time is coming to St. Paul in June and guess who is going?

ME! That's right! I'm so excited!
I seriously love Taylor Swift so much.
When her new album came out, I literaly laid in my bed and cried with her over her songs.
I wasn't even sad or depressed.
I'd cry during the sad songs, though.
AND I'd cry during the happy ones.
It was just because I felt like I connected with her words on a whole other level.
I knew what she was talking about because well, she's my age and she sings songs that people can connect with. That people can relate to.

Oh! I just love her so much!
She's such a sweetheart and just so wonderful!
I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!

I know people will laugh at me for this post but you know what? I DON'T CARE! I'M SO EXCITED!

A Christmas Thank You

I bet many of you didn't know that I sing.
I was in a recital last night. A Christmas Recital. I watched the many different faces go up and perform and personally, I thought everyone did a pretty amazing job... I didn't even do half bad! Who would've thought?!

The stage was beautifully decorated with lights and gifts and pine and as I listened to this lovely singer tell the story of a Christmas tale, I thought...
"Wow".
Am I ever happy.

And I don't mean just "content". I mean, honestly, and seriously happy. Like I'm excited for no reason. I want to shout from the rooftops about all the great things in my life.

And what better time for this to happen then around the Christmas holidays. It's always nice to feel truly happy on Christmas day, and to be honest, it's been a couple of years.

So Merry Christmas and thanks to everyone in my life who makes me smile on a regular basis.
