Ho-Hum/Life Update
I can't seem to break out of this funk I've been in lately! Please help! Just kidding, but seriously.
I think I'm just having a really hard time getting used to working 6 days a week missing everything that seems to be important in my life usually having to do with family which is what I find to be most important. It's really starting to get me down, but such is life. I just keep thinking about how in a couple years once I can get my hands on a job in my field or even once I'm graduated, I will have a stability in my career again and I can start joining in on social activities. Call me a whiner, but I think when you're working in a part time job that isn't your career, you need to remember to make time for what is most important.
Don't get me wrong, I don't regret quitting my full time office job AT ALL, I'm really happy I did it so I can work towards my goals, but I just can't help but be anxious for the next few years to zoom by so I can start living normally again. Le sigh.
On a different and happier note, t-minus 2 weeks until John & I are official roomies! I couldn't be more excited! I probably won't have any money for anything, but I seriously can't wait to cook us delicious dinners (or NOT cook us delicious dinners), actually be able to sit in my livingroom without the television being taken over by my parents or sisters, get to do laundry whenever I want without having to worry about getting in trouble, putting up my own decorations, et cetera!!! Wooo!
Also, John & I spent the past few nights out at the lake (even though I kept having to come in to work). It actually sort of worked out though because I never worked late so we'd still have our evenings to have fun swimming and reading (which is basically what we did the whole time). I read Catching Fire in like, 2 days. I still can't believe I didn't like the Hunger Games at this time last year, what was I thinking? I'm obsessed now and am already half way through the last book. I seriously can't get enough. We also enjoyed homemade wine from my dad and basically just enjoyed eachothers company.
Anyway, that's a little update on my life considering I never blog ever anymore... have a great day :)!

Food
All I can think about is food right now.
I'm sitting at work absolutely STARVING because I'm trying to limit my carb intake (so of course, the only type of breakfast food at home was CARB filled) so this morning I had an apple and an atkins granola bar.
I don't know about you, but in order to look good, but most importantly FEEL good, is a LOT of work.
I don't have time to cook in the morning! I get out of bed at the last possible second but if that weren't the case I'd LOVE to make some eggs. And maybe work out. Which is completley non existant in my life (again).
I love food more than anything and all kinds of it! Sometimes, I don't want the healthiest option on the menu, I just want a burger! But then of course, I know I'm going to pay for it after.
Anyway, this is just a silly post that doesn't mean anything. I know I should eat healthier and get exercise blah blah blah, but I DON'T WANT TO!

Passport Twist.
So the stupidest thing happened to me this morning.
Just a little pre-note, it took John forever to get his passport. I'm not joking. He literaly got it yesterday. So you can imagine how much stress that caused me and how I kept thinking we weren't going to be able to go.
Anyway, here's the story:
I went to the border about a week ago to go and pick up some packages (it's cheaper to ship to the states when you're from Canada and ORDERING from the States). Anyway, I left my passport in my step mom's car that I took. It wasn't until last night that I realized this (and as all of you know, I'm going to Minneapolis to see Taylor Swift in... let me count... 4 days!!!! oh my god) but the car wasn't there. So then this morning like at the very time I had to leave for work and I was already running late I went into the car to see if it was there and it wasn't. So there's me turning my house upside down trying to find it and my step mom was like "Did you look in the car's glove box?" and I'm like It's not in there!! By the way, at this point, I'm in tears. So I go into the car, look in the glove box, and yep there it was. So I being, well, me, come into the house and yell at the top of my lungs "THANK GOD!! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD" and she's like "you found it?" pretending to be all innocent. She then proceeds to tell me that her and my Dad went into the car the other day and saw my passport sitting on the floor and my Dad is like "throw it in the glove box to teach her not to leave her passport lying around" SO THEY TRICKED ME !!
So I would have been the one who couldn't go to the states because I didn't have a passport. What a twist.

To All My Friends
I wish for one day that everybody could all just get along.
And I wish that for once people stopped judging others and jumping to conclusions.
Don't you think life and friendships would be a lot smoother if we learned to accept and be grateful for what we have? To cherish the time we have together and not to focus on the time that we don't?
People grow up. People change.
It's time to let go of the negative and welcome the positive.
Positive people. Positive activities. A positive lifestyle.
I think people need to seriously consider their lives and stop and think for a moment about who their real friends are.
Who are the people who are going to stick by you through good moments and bad? Who are the people who accept you for who you are? Who are the people you can trust with your secrets-big and small? And who are the people who actually want to spend time with you?
For me, that list seems to be shrinking. But at least I'm true to my heart and know who to spend my valuable time with.
Let's just say this. I'm not going to waste my efforts anymore on people who could care less to spend time with me as a person...but more time judging other aspects of my life.

One Of Those Not So Great Days
Yesterday I didn't have the best of days, unfortunately.
It was just one of those days where I felt as though nothing was going right and I was pretty much taking everything so personally. All day I couldn't wait to go to the gym but then when around 4-4:30 rolled around I was ready to give up. John asked if I just wanted to go to his house and read on his back deck and that sounded like a way better idea at the time. So I went over to his house and to my surprise, he was barbequing for us! He told me to go relax and sit outside so I got some sun while reading on his back deck. He's so cute because as I was reading, he brought me a glass of wine and it was exactly what I needed at tha time. It was so windy though, but it was still really hot so that was a bonus. Dinner was so delicious too! I'm telling you, that Man can make an amazing BBQ'd dinner, that's for sure. We had porkchops, peppers, potatoes and a salad in which he made his own Balsamic Dressing. SO good!
The rest of the night was so so because I was just super sensitive about everything but then I was able to sleep on it and today is a way better day...thank goodness!!!!
Vancouver VS. Boston tonight. Who's watching?!

Exercising...Where did you go?
Since January, I've been doing so well with working out 3 times a week. But the past few weeks, I've only been going to the gym about once. It's awful and wow! What a change I've noticed in my body!
I need to stop making excuses.
Like today I was so excited to go to the gym after work, but then my day sort of took a downward spiral and now I'm just looking forward to going home and snuggling with my Man and having dinner. Maybe we'll take a nice long walk?
I really miss the gym though. I miss what it was doing for my body and how loose I felt along with just being in better shape in general. I miss just...feeling healthier.
Gym! I need to see you! :( I wish my hair wasn't so long and didn't take forever to do after I showered because then I would be going a lot more, no problem!
Jokes
What is the line between an innocent joke and a joke that has crossed the line?
No, really. I'm curious.
When should you be offended and when should you learn to brush something off?
I find that a good 80% of the time when I take a joke too seriously, I get flack for it. But then the one time I actually could care less about a joke is the time that apparently I should stick up for myself?
Maybe if I decide not to take something personally, the rest of the world should accept that and respect my decision and then just move on like the rest of us.

Friends or Whatever.
How do you know the difference between a real friend and a fake friend?
A real friend. One that is always there to listen when you need it. One that isn't afraid to give you honest advice. One that will make you laugh when you are sad or help when you are sick.
A fake friend. Someone who talks behind your back but is only nice to your face. Someone who doesn't listen when you speak but might offer you advice anyway.
I'll once again reinforce the fact that you need to keep those who matter to you close to your heart and those who you don't trust or are only there when it's convenient for you, keep a bit of a distance.
It'll be beneficial to your own happiness. I promise.

Duncan Keith: Want to Know a Fun Game?
It's called the I HATE DUNCAN KEITH GAME!!!
Terribly sorry to all of the Chicago BlackHawk fans out there!!!
Tonight is the FIFTH game between Chicago and Vancouver so me and my BF are going to play a little game.
We're going to grab some drinks to have in front of the TV and everytime the announcer says "DUNCAN KEITH" we drink.
It's a way to make his annoying exposure bearable.
I'm sure he's an amazing hockey player which is WHY the announcer says his name so much, but that doesn't mean he doesn't annoy me.
Once again, terribly sorry.
Not a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks? Or maybe you ARE a fan?
Everytime the announcer says DUNCAN KEITH take a drink! WOO!
