Canada Day Weekend

Canada Day Weekend started off for me being miserable! I didn't have any plans in order like I normally do and basically just thought my weekend was going to suck.

But it actually turned out to be pretty good! Saturday I made some yummy cocktails (recipe below) with my mom and she barbecued for us. Then me and my sister went and saw a movie.

And then Sunday my friend ended up coming into town so we went to the Waterfront to eat some food and watch the fireworks which was nice. All in all, my country's birthday was a pretty good one for me!

Original Recipe from www.thekitchn.com (adapted by me)

What You'll Need:

  • Frozen Pink Lemonade from Concentrate
  • Strawberries (Slivered)
  • 8 Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 Pony of Dark Tequila
  • 2 Cups of Water
What To Do:

Just add everything into a serving jug, mix well, and then pour into pretty glasses. :) Add some ice, enjoy!

Pub Golf

Over the weekend, I went to John's friend's birthday and his other friend's going away party (it was a joint thing).
They had a "Pub Golf" night set up where you go to a ton of different bars (that are printed out on the rule list) and at each bar, you have to drink a specific drink in the least amount of sips possible.
So of course the boys were trying to drink everything in one drink.
I, of course, happily opted out of this game and just drank my drinks casually.
It was such a fun night, though! I've never done a pub crawl before and the whole night was an absolute blast!

A Night of Love: Erica and Kurtis' Wedding

This weekend I went to witness 2 of my friends exchange their vows and lock themselves together for life!

A big congratulations go out to Kurtis and Erica Mason.

Such a lovely wedding.

Erica, you looked so unbelievable and Kurtis you were so sweet and you are a very lucky man!

So beautiful! Such a beautiful night.

How cute are the newlyweds? So romantic.
I wish you both a long and happy life together xoxo <3

Camp Weekend!

So as you know, this past weekend was CANADA DAY WEEKEND!
And I had such a great time.
I spent the entire weekend out at camp with friends and it was awesome!
I got a really bad burn though which made me want to stay away from the sun for a while but I think it's finally going away.
Here are some pics from the weekend!

Sunshine, Comedy and BBQ's

This weekend was exactly what I needed, however I'd be lying if I said I wasn't completely worn out from it.

Friday night we went to this comedy show which I had really low expectations for, but ended up having a great time. By the end of the night though, my throat started to really hurt so I had to exchange the wine for Orange Juice. My reasoning for this was me and John were headed to camp the next morning!

So yes, the next morning we went out to his camp and basically baked out in the sun all day while having delicious day drinks and snacks.

The evening was even better because as I've probably mentioned, John is an amazing BBQ Whiz and whipped up the most delicious T Bone steak (marinaded with Crown Royale? so good. don't knock it till you've tried it) and bbq'ed peppers and potatoes and a yummy salad with LOTS of veggies.

Then we watched the hockey game in which I fell asleep twice because I was so exhausted... and then of course went to bed after (we won) and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Waking up at camp is ALWAYS the best feeling in the world...there's nothing like going outside first thing in the AM and breathing in that crisp fresh air of nature's outdoors :).

We sort of just did the same thing as the previous day... ate and sat outside. Got burnt. You know...the usual. And then had another BBQ with his parents.

AND THEN came home, and saw Xmen really late at night so therefore I'm exhausted today. Ugh!

I really need to go home and sleep...

xoxo

A Relaxing Weekend

I barely did anything this weekend.
I'm not going to lie, it was spectacular.
Friday night, John took me out for dinner to a really nice Italian Restaurant (I say it was to celebrate our 6 month...if you talk to him, he'd probably tease me about it and say it was just something to do on a Friday night. I disagree. :) hehe) It was way too pricey but it was still a nice night out. After that, we just went home and pretty much vegged on the couch. We watched the Eddie Murphy "RAW" comedy show. It was hilarious!!!
Saturday we went and saw the Hangover 2. It was honestly the same movie as the first one. I think it would have been way funnier if instead of focusing on the next days (and the same events as the Hangover 1) it should have focused on their actual night. That would have been hilarious and something different.
After that, I made us a delicious dinner of Chicken Fajitas. I made everything on my own. I marinaded the chicken and everything! I'm becoming quite the little chef.
And then no word of a lie, we literaly played New Super Mario Bros and played 2 games of scrabble. Yep! We're definitely party animals!
The next day I cleaned my bathroom and my bedroom and then went to a nice dinner with my Nona. After that, we went and saw Beauty and the Beast playing at the Auditorium. Can I just say it was ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE? So amazing. I was crying at the end and was just completely blown away. I never thought I'd see such a spectacular performance come to my little city of T.Bay.
So amazing.

This weekend was much needed. The past 1003037289478923 weekends I've been so busy so it was nice to just relax and not do too much.

Have a lovely Monday!

My Weekend (Late)

Sorry...I'm aware as to how late this post is.

Anyway, last weekend was very eventful for me.

Me, Tamara and Lindsay all went to Tam's camp which was lots of fun and very necessary.
We basically had a pop and chip party and played cards. It was cute fun!

playing intense game of SkipBo haha

The next night, I got myself dolled up and went to my very first wedding! It was a blast and the bride looked beautiful.
Thank goodness that John's friends are so friendly because I wouldn't have known anybody besides my friend Diandra! I was feeling extra outgoing that night though so everything was great!

The next day, I felt a TEENSY (understatement) bit tired and me and John had to go out to his camp so I could meet his sister, her husband, his niece and his nephews. They are absolutely adorable and they love their Uncle John so much!

Too precious!

Have a great weekend !!!

Off to Camp

Me and my Boyfriend are both sick so we're going off to his camp tonight to have a Sauna and in general, some R & R!

I definitely need this country outing as I haven't been feeling myself lately.

Tomorrow is a camp night too which will be fun and like I said, very much needed.

This is actually a picture of my friend Tamara's camp where I'm going tomorrow night.

Sunny Weekend

Summer has finally showed up in my little town of Thunder Bay!

The weekend has come and gone but what a lovely little weekend it was!

Friday night I went and saw Comic Idol which was (mildly) entertaining. I was more so laughing at all the busts who went up. But there were people who I really appreciated them getting the guts up there and put on a good act!

Saturday had lunch with John and then we went shopping to find a dress for the wedding we are going to this weekend. No luck. I don't want to talk about it.

And then me and John just sat outside and talked. It was LOVELY.

Then Saturday night, I went to my friend Nikki's birthday party followed by seeing "Bridesmaids" with my good friend Holly. It was lovely!

Sunday, me and John layed around outside and collected some much needed UV Rays while reading and BBQing. When I say "we" barbequed I mean, HE barbequed. He is amazing at cooking. I'm not gonna lie. I'm craving the meal that we had last night again.

Then we watched the hockey game together and VANCOUVER WON!

It was a really great weekend. This weekend is going to be another great one! I'm so looking forward to the sunshine and outdoors!

Friday

Let's all just take a minute to celebrate what day it is.

My Funny Weekend

Lately I've just been insanely happy.
I have very little to complain about and this weekend was another example of why my life is so good right now!

Friday: I had tons of fun at a comedy show. The headliner was John Camponera! He was HIlarious!!! SOO funny. I was crying laughing. And then afterwards we went to the Madhouse (a local bar) where I sat with him and some of the opener comedians, and I felt so happy because I was making the headliner die laughing. Who knew I was so funny? Ha!

Saturday: I went to an ice show that I won tickets for but me and my friends left early because we were SO bored (sorry, kids!). So we went to the mall! Where I spent more money that I don't have (sigh). After that, my Boy came over and we ordered pizza and wings and watched Scream 2. Unfortnately, Johnnycakes fell asleep so I was up by myself watching this movie... not impressed. So I turned it off and I STILL don't know who the killer is (sshhhh don't tell me!). We went to sleep at 11 that night. Yeah, I'm only 21 and that was my Saturday. Oh well, I wouldn't change it for the world! :)

Sunday: John and I went and saw Rio. It was REALLY cute. I recommend if you are in the mood for some light hearted animation. After that, I went to the gym (thank goodness!) and then had dinner with my family. Also, have you ever heard of the book "the Game of Thrones"? The TV show premiered last night on HBO so we went over to our friend Trevor and Taryn's house to watch it. It was good. Also Vancouver won last night! In your face Chicago. :)

P.S. I never used to be a Hockey fan but dating one of the biggest hockey fans in the world is quickly changing that. My heart was racing in the last 10 minutes of the game last night. I would have been so sad if Chicago scored.

P.P.S (or is it P.S.S.? I'm not sure...): I'm so excited for what my future has in store for me regarding so many different things. I can't wait for what comes next! :) Hopefully involving some sort of independence...

My Lovely Weekend

My weekend was one of the loveliest I've had in a long time.
I was still recovering from my Tonsil Surgery  so obviously I had to take it easy.
And I did, but somehow still managed to have fun. Which was much needed, because let me tell you, having to sit in bed all day for a week is NOT fun. Not at all. It's actually really depressing. So you can imagine how happy I was to actually go out and do some things this weekend. I even got to eat!

Friday during the day I made a mall trip with some close friends and I bought a few new cute things for barely any money. It felt so good to prepare for Summer through fashion! I'm wearing one of my outfits today and hopefully I'll remember to take a picture tonight so I can show you all! Friday night I went to see the movie, Your Highness (hilarious) with some friends. It was supposed to be a triple date but  we ended up seeing a few people we knew there and turned into a group outing. After that me and my Man had a cozy night! Mmm so warm! :)

Saturday, John asked me if I wanted to help set up for this 80's night event for one of his Promotion's for work and of course I said yes! We basically just had to put up banner tape sponsoring our radio station (we work at the same place...just not in the same department) but it was a lot of fun! After that, we went to Boston Pizza and had pizza, wings and beer. And considering it had been so long since I could eat REAL food, I definitely took advantage of this. So delicious! After that we proceeded to have a few more drinks while watching Hockey. It was such a nice night. We stayed up for so long just talking and sharing deep and intimate thoughts (one of which I'll share with you tomorrow).

Sunday we sort of lazed around the house and didn't do much of anything. Me and John saw a movie during the day (The Source Code...highly recommend) and then I went and spent some time with my Mother. Then sort of late at night, I got back together with the boyfriend and we watched Scream and had some junk food. It was just a really relaxing day (you know, with all of the Golf Ball sized hail our city got that night. So insane!)

Stay tuned tomorrow for one of the most inspiring thoughts a guy has ever shared with me.
For all you ladies who may be insecure with your bodies, you do NOT want to miss this.

Xoxo

Lazy Weekends

Sometimes it's nice to have a weekend full of nothingness.

A change from the usual partying.

A weekend full of movies and tv shows. Friends and XoXo's.

Blankets and napping.

Shopping with mom and coffee with sister.

And then I come back to work for the week and look forward to what my evenings will bring me as well as the weekends ahead.

In the meantime, I will leave you with this silly picture of me. (Sorry Brie-if you're reading this!)

I need to start taking more pictures...that would require me to replace the batteries in my camera first.

Have a great day! :)

It's Time to Appreciate Life.

It's nice to know when things are finally looking up.
It's nice to know that you have your friends when you feel that there is really no one else.
It's nice to have deep discussions with people about the struggles of life.
It's SAD to know that we judge people when we really don't know where they are from or what they have been through.
It's nice to know that when you know these things, you can be there for them in ways you weren't able to before.
It's nice to have multiple close friends new and old.
It's nice to make new best friends.
It's nice to have a nice balance between friends and family.
It's nice to get excited over a TV show with your friends.
It's nice to have a new job and feel like you're actually doing okay.
It's nice to go out past midnight.
It's nice to stay up until 5 am laughing and talking with your girlfriends.
It's nice to know that you always have someone to talk to.
It's nice to be able to wake up at 12 and not worry about being late for work.
It's nice to know that you are making good money while still sleeping in until 12.
It's nice to have something to look forward to.

...And these are all of the nice things about my weekend/week so far. :)
